Transcript evaluation: Frequently asked questions

Find answers to frequently asked questions about transcript evaluations on your journey to become a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance (ACAF) holder.

Do you accept unofficial transcripts such as photocopies, emails, scans and documentation issued to students for a transcript evaluation?

No, we only accept official transcripts. Official transcripts are original transcripts issued and mailed directly to CPA Canada by the post-secondary institution. CPA Canada has prepared an academic records request form to assist you in requesting your official transcripts. You are encouraged to submit your official transcripts as soon as possible.

How do I get started?

Complete the application for admission and transcript evaluation form. Once we have determined if you are eligible to enroll in one of our education programs, you will need to request your transcripts from your post-secondary institution. Once we have received all of your transcripts, we will complete the evaluation.

How long does it take to receive a transcript evaluation report?

It will take approximately two to three weeks to receive a transcript evaluation report from the date we receive all of your official transcripts.
