Is the Canadian CPA designation recognized globally?

The Canadian CPA accounting designation is recognized internationally, with thousands of Canadian CPA members currently working throughout the world. The CPA certification program was developed in accordance with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) standards for professional accountants and comprehensively prepares a Canadian CPA to embark on any number of global careers through reciprocal agreements with the world’s leading accounting organizations.

Is financial support available for my Canadian CPA studies?

At this time, the CPA certification program is recognized for funding through the Barbados Student Revolving Loan Fund. Also, preferred lending arrangements have been secured through the Republic Bank (Barbados) Limited.

CPA Canada is currently in the application process of securing funding through the Government Assistance for Tuition Expenses Programme (GATE), through the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training. Further details concerning arrangements in other Caribbean territories will be forthcoming and updates will be posted.

Can I transfer my Canadian CPA studies to Canadian provinces and territories?

Yes, the CPA certification program is a nationally developed program that is delivered regionally by Canadian CPA schools across the country. The CPA certification program offered in the Caribbean is the same program that is offered across Canada (and Bermuda) and is on the same schedule.

Where is your office located in the Caribbean?

While CPA Canada maintains an active presence throughout the Caribbean and has a regional representative in Barbados, member chapters, academic partnerships and professional associations, there is no physical office. CPA Canada program administration is managed from Toronto, Canada.
